Samsung Galaxy S23 series to start Android 14 One UI 6 beta program

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series to Begin Android 14 One UI 6 Beta Testing

Samsung has released the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 beta version update for its Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra devices. The beta version is only available in the US, Germany, and South Korea. The beta program will allow users to test out the upcoming software update and provide feedback to Samsung.

The Android 14 One UI 6 beta is expected to be based on the Android 14 Developer Preview 3, which was released in July 2023. The developer preview includes a number of new features and changes, including a new design language, improved privacy features, and new productivity tools.

The Galaxy S23 series is expected to be released in early 2023, so the Android 14 One UI 6 beta program will give users a chance to try out the new software before it is released on the final phones.

The beta program will be available in select regions, and users will need to register for the program on the Samsung website. The beta program will be available for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

If you are interested in participating in the beta program, you can sign up on the Samsung website. The beta program is expected to start in the coming weeks.

The update has arrived with many new changes and improvements, including:

  • A redesigned UI with new icons and colors
  • Improved Quick Panel with two large cards for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
  • New emojis and weather app with more metrics
  • New default fonts and battery settings
  • Enhanced Calendar app with chronological order of events
  • Ability to run audio and video from internet apps in the background
  • Personalized tab list in two columns in Samsung Dex
  • Magnified view for setting ideal location
  • The update also includes a number of bug fixes and performance improvements.

OneUI 6 is expected to bring a major visual overhaul to Samsung’s software, with a new system font, redesigned emoji, a revamped quick settings menu, more lockscreen customization options, a new camera app UI, and more. Some of the features are based on Android 14’s native capabilities, such as non-linear font scaling, grammatical inflection API, and OpenJDK 17 updates. Other features are exclusive to Samsung’s own skin, such as a new music player, updated icons, more typography, a fresh settings look, and revamped Samsung stock apps.

The Android 14 One UI 6 beta is a great opportunity to try out the upcoming software update and provide feedback to Samsung. If you are a Galaxy S23 series user, I encourage you to sign up for the beta program.
